“Salvation for a race, nation, or class must come from within. Freedom is never granted; it is won. Justice is never given; it is exacted. Freedom and justice must be struggled for by the oppressed of all lands and races, and the struggle must be continuous.”

–A. Philip Randolph

El Kurot School

El Kurot School began with the shade of one tree serving as a classroom. Today students learn in a two-room schoolhouse. The tree still serves as a classroom for the youngest students. Like many other schools in Maasailand, El Kurot school children have to overcome many challenges to achieve education, including walking long distances to school. MCI supports the government’s school feeding program by providing supplementary food and constructing a kitchen at El Kurot School.
